熊作為最原始自然的野獸之一，代表著原始文化。史載“黃帝有熊氏”，“本是有熊國君之子”，熊作為華夏族公認的祖先——黃帝所在部落的姓氏，可謂“根正苗紅”，并且，熊也是傳說中中國歷史上第一個王朝——夏的信仰。熊象征著勇氣和力量，野蠻生長，充滿原始的野性與力量，被視作大自然力量重生的體現受到崇拜。同時，熊本身憨厚的體態，又給人以呆萌可愛的感覺。從古至今，熊的形象都是神秘而多變的。
